Como Girls

This hot glue portrait focuses on these two girls I met while traveling in Como, Italy. Our interaction was beautiful in the sense that we spent a few hours really getting to know each other but never exchanged information to be able to stay in touch. It was a great type of quick friendship that had no expectations and therefore there were no problems about being very honest and open. When creating this piece, I drew in pastel on pieces of wood and metal portraits of them based on what I could remember. The hot glue would pick up some of the colors of the pastel but also obscure the images. This piece came out of my threaded portraits as a way to completely do away with a fabric base.
